Rey Vargas already has in his hands the second world championship of the World Council. The 31-year-old Mexican conquered the feather crown by beating the Filipino Mark Magsayo in a duel in San Antonio.

The one from Otumba, State of Mexico, won his second division four years after vacating the super bantamweight title and after overcoming a series of injuries.

“It is a feeling that I cannot fully describe, because the satisfaction and pride is great. Winning the first belt was something great, but the second is even more and it showed me that now I can go for more and that is what I want” said the fighter who trains under his father Carlos Vargas and legendary trainer Nacho Beristain.
