Sean O’Malley is unsure if Jake Paul can replicate boxing’s success in MMA

Sean O'Malley doesn't think Jake Paul will be able to replicate the success he's had with boxing if he decides to switch to MMA in the future.

Sean O’Malley doesn’t think Jake Paul will be able to replicate the success he’s had with boxing if he decides to switch to MMA in the future. According to ‘Sugar’, there are various aspects of mixed martial arts that require years of practice to master. Therefore, it will be difficult for Paul to learn the same thing as quickly as he did in boxing.

O’Malley admits that Paul can box and praises him for gaining boxing skills fairly quickly. However, there are several other forms of martial arts like wrestling and jiu-jitsu in MMA where ‘The Problem Child’ must be good to hang out with the elite fighters inside the cage:

“Jake goes into MMA, I don’t know buddy… it takes so long, I think it’s going to take longer to do what he did in boxing in MMA. In boxing he did it fast and he was awesome and you know he knocked out Tyron Woodley and that’s crazy, but getting into MMA and being successful is a different level. There are too many things you have to be good at.

O’Malley also noted that Paul, as a boxer, must learn takedown defense to compete in MMA so that the fight stays on his feet, where he feels most comfortable.

Jake Paul interested in fighting former world boxing champion next

Jake Paul has made it clear that he has MMA in his future plans, but for now he remains focused on his boxing career. The YouTube star recently expressed his desire to face former middleweight boxing champion Julio César Chávez Jr. in his next fight.

Paul has often been criticized for avoiding professional boxers, but this time he seeks to silence his critics by fighting a former world champion:

“The [pelea] by Julio César Chávez, I really like that fight because it silences the critics ”,
