JUAREZ CITY. The boxer from Zacatecas, Erika Guadalupe Chávez Molina, won the silver medal when she fell in the university boxing final against Vanessa Jiménez, at the 2022 National Universiade.
The university boxer achieved an outstanding performance against the competitor from the University of Guadalajara (UDG) and delivered the eighth medal for the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) in the sports university fair that takes place in Ciudad Juárez.
Erika Guadalupe Chávez showed that Zacatecas is a land of good boxers by stepping into the ring in the 69-kilogram category and reaching the final.
The young university boxers of the UAZ, under the command of Francisco Javier García Jaramillo, achieved a great performance when they returned to Zacatecas with a balance of two dents, one silver and one more bronze.
At the end of the participation of the UAZ in the discipline of boxing, the highest house of studies in Zacatecas so far has 8 medals, 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze.
