It has been a busy year in terms of signings, rumours, etc., especially with the announcement of the abandonment of Suzuki at the end of this season, which left two first-rate riders without a motorcycle and free on the market.
To all this we had to add the umpteenth movement in the ranks of the Honda and KTM teams, especially Tech3.
Finally, and in the absence of specifying a single place (precisely for Tech3, which next year will be the official GasGas team and not a satellite), the 2023 MotoGP grid is practically closed.
There have also been some serials, such as the one created by Ducati when it took time to choose between Jorge Martín and Enea Bastianini as the second driver of the official team, or also what it took for Honda to make official something that everyone had known for a long time, such as the arrival of Joan Mir to replace Pol Espargaró.
In 2023 there will be several absences, some as notorious as those of Andrea Dovizioso, several times runner-up in MotoGP with Ducati, but who had a gray return to racing in the ranks of the Yamaha RNF WithU. Gray like his mate, darryn binderpromoted directly from Moto3, having a contract with the sponsor, but the Moto2 team having disappeared, which was where he should have collected.
Another dream to highlight will be that of the Moto2 champion in 2021, the Australian Remy Gardner who, like his teammate from last year and this year, Raúl Fernández, has had a difficult debut in the premier class. Raúl, after some complicated negotiations with KTM -with whom he still had a year of contract- has been signed by the new Razlan Razali team, which will have two competitive Aprilias in 2023. There he will be able to demonstrate all his talent, which is undoubtedly a lot. Remy will have to find a life in SBK or Moto2. There is talk of an agreement with the GYTR GRT Yamaha in WSBK.
Today the continuity of Takaaki Nakagami in the Honda LCR Idemitsu has been confirmed, after having planned in the air the possibility of being replaced by Ai Ogura, who is having a great season in Moto2.
By the way, and it is not a secret that with almost total certainty (although in the case of the KTM teams there can always be surprises) the GasGas Tech3 position will be occupied by August Fernandez.
