In the penultimate weekend of the qualifying rounds of the amateur contest, the first champions were known in the child, youth and elite categories.
Last weekend at Cri Cri Park, 16 finals were played in both branches (11 for men and five for women) of the Boxing Rookies Tournament.
More than 80 boxers participated in this tournament promoted by the State Boxing Association and fighters from the municipalities of Xochitepec, Cuernavaca, Yautepec, Temixco, Emiliano Zapata and Cuautla are seeking to win the title of their respective category.
In the category up to 44 kilograms, Jhostin Iturbe, from the Olympic Boxing gym, was crowned in this category.
Elesban Luna Romero, in the category up to 50 kilograms, from the Chiro Boxing gym, took first place.
Aarón Márquez, from the Emiliano Zapata Boxing gym, won the title in the category up to 54 kilograms.
Raúl Campuzano, in the category up to 60 kilograms, from the Fábrica de Campeones gym in the municipality of Yautepec, beat Amiel Capeño, from Otilio Boxing.
Amellali Jazmín Rosas Campos, from the gym Luis “Torito” Duarte de la Lagunilla was crowned in the Junior category.
From this same gym in the Lagunilla neighborhood of the Morelos capital, Landy Alheli Castañeda Ruiz (60 kilograms) was runner-up. Both are trained by Professor Luis Armando Duarte Domínguez.
The Luis “Torito” Duarte de la Lagunilla gym, from Cuernavaca, entered four boxers and Amellali Jazmín Rosas and Alheli Castañeda had an outstanding participation in the rookie tournament.
