With 14, the United States finished 2021 in first place among the countries with the most world boxing champions, where Mexico ranks third with just seven monarchs.

There are currently 63 world champions in the four most important bodies AMB, CMB, FIB and OMB, of which 14 are Americans.

Errol spence jr, welterweight champion CMB and FIB, and Terence crawford, monarch of the same weight of the OMB, in addition to Gervonta davis (light AMB) and Devin haney (light CMB), top the list of champions of the country of the stars and stripes.

Also on the list are the unified super bantamweight champion. CMB and OMB, Stephen Fulton; the WBO super featherweight monarch, Shakur Stevenson; or the brothers Jermell charlo (superwelter AMB, CMB and FIB) and Jermall charlo (medium CMB).

The second power is Japan

Among the countries with the most world boxing champions, the second power at the moment is Japan. The Asian country has eight world champions, including two champions in multiple divisions and members of the Pound for Pound listing. One is the unified rooster monarch AMB and FIB, Naoya Inoue. The other is Kazuto Ioka, super fly champion of the OMB.

Another champion that has generated expectation is Ryota murata, super middleweight champion of the AMB.

Mexico, to third place

Mexico completes the podium of honor with seven current champions, including the considered best pound for pound of the moment and undisputed super middleweight monarch: Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez.

Another Mexican champion, solidly installed in the charts Pound for pound is Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada, as a super fly monarch of the CMB and the AMB.

Besides of Canelo and from Rooster, they are on the list Oscar Valdez (super feather CMB), Leo Santa Cruz (featherweight champion AMB), Emanuel Navarrete (pen OMB), Julio César “Rey” Martínez (fly CMB) and Esteban Bermúdez (mini fly AMB).

Although Mexico lost two monarchs compared to last year, in which it finished as the second country with the most champions, it remains among the best in the world.

England and the Philippines, fourth place and fifth place

England, with six champions, including the heavyweight champion of the CMB, Tyson fury, or the undisputed superlight monarch, Josh taylor, is located on the fourth rung. The Philippines completes the Top 5 with four champions, one of them the historic Nonito donaire, who reigns in the bantamweight division of the CMB.

Latin America has 16 champions

In total, Latin American countries have 16 world champions, where Mexico leads with seven champions, followed by Cuba and Puerto Rico, with two each.
