Cuban Osvel Caballero will live his second foray into professional boxing posters this Friday when he faces local Luis Díaz in Barranquilla.

The fight is scheduled for eight rounds, in the 130-pound division, as part of an evening to be played at the Elías Chegwin Coliseum in that Colombian city.

“I don’t know the characteristics of the rival, but I am prepared to give victory to my country,” the Antillean, world tanned in 2021, commented at the headquarters.

Díaz, with 13 years of experience in those circuits, shows a balance of 23 wins (14 by knockout), 10 losses and one draw.

Caballero, also a Pan-American monarch, beat the host Joshman Reyes on the fast track in four acts in a dispute hosted by the Mexican city of Aguascalientes.

It was the professional debut of the Domadores de Cuba franchise, which then gave itself another five successes without failure and more recently added smiles from Roniel Iglesias and Lázaro Álvarez.

The former defeated Mexican Agustín Lugo in Monterrey in eight rounds, and Lázaro imitated him against Argentine Alex Torres in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
