The Catalan study RCR Arquitecteswinner of the 2017 Pritzker Prize, has designed eight luxury villas in the resort Palmares Ocean Living & Golf, located in the Algarve of Portugal, inaugurated at the end of 2020. The complex will have a hotel and villas, a social club and spa, but only eight of them will be Signature Villas, one of the most luxurious in the place.

The first of these eight luxury villas has already been completed and has been presented as Villa 19. All of them will be characterized by their spacious size, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, sea views, a large private pool and a large garden. Designed to be framed in the landscape, they are made up of overlapping planes of concrete with angular walls.

Villa 19 It has two floors, and is organized around nine terraces so that indoor activities can spill out into the open air. On the ground floor is the kitchen, dining room and living room along the first three of these terraces. The pool creates a natural division between these more social spaces and a bedroom on the ground floor, which opens up to three more tiered terraces. Upstairs the three remaining bedrooms each have their own terrace.

The Palmares Ocean Living & Golf complex will have 450 villas and a five-star hotel with 150 rooms, an ambitious project developed by the developer Kronos Homes. Kronos acquired the land in 2017 that includes a golf course designed by architect Robert Trent Jones, with an initial investment of 250 million euros.
