COTA is the first track in the United States designed specifically for the Grand Prix, it is located near the city of Austin, Texas, and has a long route of 5,513 kilometers and a capacity of 120,000 spectators.
Construction on a 400-hectare site was completed in 2012, the MotoGP World Championship visited it for the first time in 2013 and one of its main characteristics is the long climb, with a drop of 41 meters, which ends the main straight and to which follow a sharp curve to the left.
The circuit is one of the most varied and combines fast straights, hairpins and various sections inspired by the most famous circuits.
The layout was devised by the renowned German designer Hermann Tilke and the track runs in the opposite direction to the hands of the clock, has a total of twenty turns per lap, nine to the right and eleven to the left.
The leader of the MotoGP championship is the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, with 234 points, followed by the Italian Francesco Bagnaia, with 186, third is the Spanish Joan Mir with 167, fourth is also the French Johann Zarco with 141 and fifth the Australian Jack Miller with 140.
