The National Football League (NFL) announced that it will offer, in partnership with Ticketmaster, commemorative non-fungible tokens (NFT) to attendees of the 100 regular season games this year, an initiative that has proven last year.

The Ticketmaster website specifies the following:

“To earn your virtual commemorative ticket, simply attend select NFL games, listed below. It’s as simple as that! Once your ticket is scanned at the gate, you will be eligible for an individually numbered NFT.”

Ticketmaster explains that after attending an NFL game, attendees should check their email associated with ticket scanned, and you will be instructed to retrieve that same pass but in NFT “format”.

Last April, Chiliz (the company behind Socios.com) announced its “massive landing in the United States”, by signing 13 of the most important teams in the NFL such as: Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Los Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburg Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, among others.

“As we continue to invest in the United States to create a global network of the best sports properties, we are pleased to add 13 NFL teams. Our goal is to offer a full range of digital assets and features for fans in the future. @partners x @chiliz. $CHZ”.

Commemorative NFTs will be for: Carlona Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders , Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, among others.

Ticketmaster even invites its fans:

“Are you heading to an NFL game soon? Something special awaits you. Earn a free virtual commemorative ticket in the form of an NFT (Non-Fungible Token) when you attend select NFL games this season. These virtual commemorative tickets are game day memorabilia that you can keep, transfer or resell.”

For her part, Abby Desai, from the NFL Club Business Development area, explained:

“We are still in the testing and learning phase of all these NFT explorations. But we wanted to do something that all 32 clubs could commit to and offer their fans locally.”
