The present and future of Catalan golf will meet at Golf Terramar

A total of eight Catalan players, four professionals and four amateurs, will join Carlota Ciganda as the main attraction of the tournament in Sitges

The Estrella Damm Ladies Open presented by Catalunya, a tournament belonging to the Ladies European Tour, will be played at Golf Terramar from July 7 to 10

Carlota Ciganda will be on her own merits the great Spanish bet in the Estrella Damm Ladies Open presented by Catalunya 2022, a tournament of the Ladies European Tour that will be held from July 7 to 10 at the Terramar Golf Club, in the Barcelona town of Sitges and that distributes 300,000 euros in prizes.

It can’t be any other way after the player from Navarra won this event in 2019 and played a playoff for the title in 2017, with a final victory for the English Florentyna Parker.

Although the Estrella Damm Ladies Open will also have the incentive of have four professional Catalan players: Elia Folch, Camilla Hedberg, Paz Marfá and Mireia Pratwhich could release their winning locker at the Terramar Golf Club.

Four first class Catalan amateurs

In addition to the four Catalan professional golfers, the first five classified have been added to the final list of the Estrella Damm Ladies Open from the “Esportcat Catalunya Challenge”: the Catalans Alexandra Vidal, Daniela Campillo, Miriam Ayora, Blanca Yagüe and Carla Bernat from Castellón.

Likewise, the “Esportcat Catalunya Challenge” has also included a special prize for the three best Under 16 players (Alexandra Vidal, Ana Aguilar and Laia Llorens), which will consist of taking part in the Pro-Am of the Estrella Damm Ladies Open. The three young women will share 18 holes with the professional Paz Marfá, starring in a match that combines of Catalan women’s golf.

The “Esportcat Catalonia Challenge” is an event created with the technical support of the Federation and promoted by the General Secretary of Sport and Physical Activity of the Generalitat de Catalunya, to give young Catalan golfers the opportunity to have the experience of competing alongside the best players in the world.
