The Spanish soccer team will return to Catalonia more than 18 years later

The men’s soccer team will play a game in Catalonia again more than 18 years later. This was confirmed by the RFEF this Monday, announcing that the friendly between Spain and Albania next Saturday, March 26 (7:00 p.m.) will be played at the RCDE Stadium in Cornellá, home of RCD Espanyol in Barcelona.

The senior football team has not played a match in Catalonia since February 18, 2004, when it played a friendly against Peru at the Olympic Stadium.

At that time, players like Raúl González, Iker Casillas and Carles Puyol stood out in the most successful cycle in the history of ‘La Roja’.

Spain will also settle the pending account with A Coruña on March 29 with Iceland as its rival, after more than a decade without visiting it.
