The story of Miguel, Guillermo and Jaume or how to play soccer with a functional or physical diversity


Playing football in the Valencian Community with a physical or functional diversity is already possible from this year. Miguel, Guillermo and Jaume are the examples, Miguel, Guillermo and Jaume already have their Diverse License.

The protagonists of this report are Miguel, William and Jaume, three players who participate as federated in competitions of the Valencian Community Soccer Federation who play soccer thanks to the Diverse License.

In case of Miguel Moya, who suffers from a visual impairment, was the origin of the activation of this license.

His club, the CD Fuenterrobles, contacted the FFCV To find out the possibilities of registering Miguel with a license and after several months of work, this special license was activated for cases like yours.

Later, other players like William,of the CD Moreres, or Jaume, of the Swedish Promises have benefited from this Diverse License and play every weekend with their teams in the Leagues of FFCV.

What is the Miscellaneous License?

The Valencian Community Soccer Federation activated last season (October 2020) the ‘Diverse’ license for players with functional or intellectual diversity.

It did so by publishing circular number 11, the one in charge of regulating this license.

This license was approved by the general Assembly of the FFCV in December 2019.

Thanks to this initiative of the FFCV, boys and girls with functional or intellectual diversity can play in a category less than the one that corresponds to them by age in the case in which it best suits their abilities.

Requirements to obtain this license

To obtain this license, a series of requirements must be met:

  • Express authorization of the legal representatives.
  • Certificate of the Administration of the degree of diversity.
  • Medical or therapeutic-occupational report.
  • Report and express authorization of the medical services of the Social Welfare Mutual Fund for Spanish Footballers at a Fixed Premium.

The FFCV Thus, it covers a historical demand of many male and female players who until now had not been able to adapt the practice of soccer with a category according to their abilities.
