Continuing with its role as a Grand Prix city, Barcelona is now preparing to celebrate the MotoGP™ Grand Prix Monster Energy of Catalonia, which will take place in Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from June 3 to 5. To bring this world closer and make fans immerse themselves in the MotoGP™ universe, the Village Barcelona&Circuit will dress for the occasion, thus having a unique setting.
This thematic area, just as it happened with the Spanish F1 Grand Prix, through which 36,845 people passed in nine days, will be located in Port Vell and can be visited from this Friday May 27 and until Wednesday June 1. The Village Barcelona&Circuit will host multiple proposals that link the city of Barcelona with motor racing and the MotoGP World Championship, with free and open access for all audiences.
Visitors will be able to find as main attraction up to 5 Repsol Honda units exposed. These are the Honda NSR 500 ridden by Mick Doohan in 1997, the Honda RC211V of Nicky Hayden, the Honda 40th Anniversary of 2008, the Honda RC212V of Dani Pedrosa and the Honda RC213V of Marc Márquez. On the other hand, the BMW M8 Gran Coupé, the MotoGP™ Safety Car, will also be on display. Attendees will be able to see the legendary World Cup trophy, known as the ‘Tower of Champions’. This tower is built year after year with a new plaque that indicates the name of the winner of each season.
The Village Barcelona&Circuit will once again have the recreation of a box inside with a motorcycle by Monlau Competition. Competition lovers will also have a track at their disposal scalextric carsas well as a set of eSports simulators. The little ones will find their place and will be able to enjoy multiple motorcycles Repsol ride-on by a circuit designed for them and them. To take a souvenir, there will be a podium with a photocall.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will also exhibit a photographic journey for its three decades of history, as well as showing some of its trophies more important. There will also be a sustainability point in order to raise awareness about caring for the environment and from where the sustainable actions carried out by the Circuit will be disseminated. Fans who wish can buy tickets at a point of sale installed in the Village, as well as can be done with unique items from moto gp merchandise™ and the Circuit.
On Monday, May 30, it will also take place at the Village Barcelona&Circuit the program Matina Codina of RAC105with Ernest Codina live from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The schedule of the Village Barcelona & Circuit will be from 12 noon to 9 p.m. every day, except on Saturdays and Sundays, when it will open one hour earlier, at 11 a.m.
This Village is part of a shared strategy of the Barcelona City Council and the Generalitat de Catalunya to bring the MotoGP™ Grand Prix to life throughout the city and for the city to be impregnated and live the great events in the first person, as has already been done with the Mobile World Congress or the ISE. This initiative will also be accompanied by a communication campaign at Barcelona Airport to welcome those attending the Gran Premi de Catalunya.
