In Galicia, the pandeireteiras are the women who have worked to preserve traditional music, that which is now triumphing in fusion with avant-garde sounds. Sabela Maneiro, Aida Tarrío and Olaia Maneiro, three new-generation singers, are largely to blame for this success. As Tanxugueiras, they have reviewed and modernized that legacy, giving it an epic style and with great ancestral strength on stage. Urban rhythms merge with sounds of ancient tradition. His energy, his empowerment and his vocal virtuosity are already international. “Non hai fronteiras”, what would they say. And his unique and innovative style is known as trad. We are facing one of the most original and surprising proposals of recent Spanish music.

Michael Head and the Red Elastic Band
With forty years of musical career behind him, Michael Head has long established himself as one of the most brilliant composers of his generation. Inspired by mythical bands like Love or The Byrds, the genius from Liverpool founded and initially led The Pale Fountains and Shack, two genuine bands that, however, were born against the tide. But Michael Head, a goldsmith of melodies, continues to rise. In 2013, he redirected his career with The Red Elastic Band and a decade after that revival, he presents his most delicate and artisanal pop on ACTUAL. It will be his first concert in Spain, a cult event.

Capable of rubbing shoulders on stage with the Rolling Stones themselves, Sidonie’s concerts are already legendary. A generational reference for many and one of the totems of indie music in Spanish, the group was born in the late nineties in Barcelona and its impact on the underground scene was immediate. From the beginning, Marc Ros, Jesús Senra and Axel Pi have distinguished themselves by a very special sound. His music runs mainly through rock, pop, funky and psychedelia. It sounds like vintage intact, but the musical palette is very wide. Sidonie is a mosaic of resplendent hooks, great tours, awards and new horizons of all colors.

It was time for ELYELLA to come to CURRENT. And not only because SHE, María Eguizábal, is our countrywoman, from Arnedo, but because this duo of DJs and music producers have become essential in any festival worth its salt. His sessions transcend conventional formats and leave the public exhausted. They are energy and good vibes. His remixes shake up dance floors using the freshest indie and electronic sounds. They adulterate songs, like “Ser Brigada”, by León Benavente, and “Here comes your man”, by Pixies, to make them vibrate in another way. They incorporate their own compositions, such as “Magic” or “Todo lo que importa”, in collaboration with Viva Sweden. They invite musicians and gospel choirs to their live performances. Pure electricity.
