Tyson Fury challenged UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou to a boxing match.

Ngannou will defend his title against interim champion and former teammate Ciryl Gane later this month, but the French-American has expressed a desire to return to his boxing roots.

Ngannou, 35, stated this week that Tyson Fury would be an ideal opponent, and the WBC heavyweight champion has already responded to him.

“Who would like to see me fight this beast, with boxing rules and gloves from @ufc?” Fury tweeted along with a mock poster of a fight between him and Ngannou.

The Brit also tagged Ngannou and UFC president Dana White in the tweet.

Ngannou, 35, later responded to the Brit: “How about MMA rules and boxing gloves? I can do you that favor. “

Fury responded quickly with the tweet: “You want to enter my world by challenging us to [Deontay] Wilder and me to a boxing match. What I can guarantee you is that you will get knocked out and also that you would get paid for it the highest guaranteed bag you have ever seen! So think about it. “

Ngannou replied, “After I dealt with a matter [contra Gane] On January 22nd, I will fight you with any special rules you want. In a ring, an octagon or a phone booth ”.

Fury last boxed in October 2021, when he knocked out Deontay Wilder for the second time in a row to retain his title, in what was the third fight between the two. After that, he was ordered to defend the gold against mandatory challenger and interim champion Dillian Whyte in the next fight, which will likely be in March 2022.

On the other hand, Ngannou knocked out Stipe Miocic in his last fight, in March 2021, winning the UFC heavyweight championship, and he vindicated himself after a decision loss he suffered in 2018 against the American.

Ngannou is widely regarded as the best power puncher in UFC history.

He has scored 12 of his 16 professional MMA victories via knockout. In addition, he had eight of those 12 victories in the first round, and three of them in the first minute of the fight.
