UFC: Conor McGregor will return to the UFC until 2023

ANDhe Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC could take longer than expected. The Irishman’s recovery after fracturing his left leg has been prolonged and It will be ready to go up to the octagon until the beginning of 2023.

Though ‘The Notorious’ original plan was to be in the cage by fall, he would finally have his first matchup for the first quarter of next year. So the fans will have to wait to see the Irishman again.

According to Ariel Helwani, The main date for the return of the former double champion will be in March 2023: “It doesn’t look like he’ll be back in 2022. So now, here’s a guy who hasn’t fought since (July) last year. Last I heard, by the way, is that Conor might be back in February, March or something”; he said on the show ‘The MMA Hour’.

Since the Irishman got hurt in the trilogy against Dustin Poirier, Dana White has been cautious about offering an estimate for the fighter’s return. Likewise, Helwanian assured that in the McGregor camp they take the return calmly:

“What if Conor comes back and trips and gets hurt again? There are a million different things that could happen. There is no guarantee that he will come back tomorrow, next month, next month, and the last I heard was in early 2023. There is no rush here, as there should be no rush because he is coming back from such a horrific and serious injury,” added the journalist.

On the other hand, until May of this year, ‘Notorious’ had not yet been cleared to kick with his left leg. Although Conor looks forward to measuring himself against characters like Michael Chandler, Charles Oliveira, Kamaru Usman or Nate Diaz, Everything indicates that you should forget about those plans for this year.
