This Tuesday, August 23, the UFC updated its rankings, including bantamweight, one of the busiest divisions in the upper zone in recent weeks, with news.

Merab Dvalishvili defeated José Aldo last weekend, and with it he claimed the number 3 spot in the ranking, while the veteran Brazilian fighter dropped to sixth place.

The ranking is still led by the Russian Petr Yan, who is the number 1 contender, behind the champion Aljamain Sterling.

Number 2 is TJ Dillashaw, who hasn’t fought yet, awaiting his fight with Sterling on October 22 at UFC 280.

For his part, fourth in the ranking is Cory Sandhagen, who has not had action since his loss to Dillashaw himself last July.

With this, it is surprising that Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera did not unseat Sandhagen, who knocked out the eighth in the division: Dominick Cruz.

That said, the ‘tricolor’ does not move, but remains among the best five in its division while waiting for the rest of its rivals to compete to know its future in the ranking.

Chito Vera expects a 135-pound title fight.
