The table is set to dominate the division

Rey Vargas became the new Mexican champion in the Featherweight division after knocking out Filipino star Mark Magsayo in a controversial fight that went down on the scorecards by split decision.

Vargas He celebrated in style this victory that made him the 29th world champion in the brilliant career of coach Nacho Beristáin, however, after a few days the time has come to define what he will do with this new belt.

Rey decided to venture into this new division after vacating the super bantamweight world title, which he successfully defended five times.

Now, in a hot division, his target is not focused on Brandon Figueroa, the Mexican-American boxer who also beat Carlos Castro in the same role.

Rey Vargas wants to unify the titles and dreams of the undisputed championship. For this he must face two Mexicans who hold the other belts.

The first of them is Leo Santa Cruz, monarch of the World Boxing Association and who has a record of 38 wins and only 2 losses in his professional career.

The second is Emanuel ‘Vaquero’ Navarrete, monarch of the World Boxing Organization and who will expose this same title in a few more days when he faces the Mexican Eduardo Baez.
