The American , Olympic champion, won the Scottish Open on Sunday, five days before the start of the British Open, after a very exciting last day.

Schauffele wins his third tournament in a row, after the Traveler’s Championship (United States) and the JP McManus Pro-Am (Ireland).

“I kept my cool and it’s very rewarding. It was a very stressful day,” Schauffele said at the end of his participation.

In the final overall, Schauffele finished one stroke ahead of fellow countryman Kurt Kitayama.

Another American, former world number one Jordan Spieth, failed on the final day, having finished third on Saturday. He could not however fight this Sunday for the victory.

Schauffele, world number 11, thus ideally prepares the British Open, one of the four ‘greats’ on the circuit, which takes place from July 14 to 17 at the St Andrews course, in eastern Scotland.
